Power of Attorney
A power of attorney is a legal document that authorizes one person to act on behalf of another. A power of attorney can grant complete authority or can be limited to certain acts or periods of time. Full power of attorney occurs when someone is granted the right to make all decisions on your behalf. Limited power of attorney is often used in the event that you are not able to attend the closing on your home loan, for example. A power of attorney form is required in this case to grant someone else (likely your spouse) the power to sign documents on your behalf.
