I’m a big fan of ‘80s television. One of my favorite shows was Webster.
A few seasons into the show, Webster, George, and Ma’am moved out of their apartment and into a Victorian house with one of the coolest features I’d ever seen in a home…a SECRET LADDER that ran from basement to top floor, complete with a swing-away grandfather clock that concealed its existence.
As a kid, I couldn’t think of a cooler feature I’d want in my house. Multiple bathrooms? Forget it. Finished basement? No way. Functional furnace? Baaaaah.
False grandfather clock concealing a secret passage between floors? MUST HAVE.
You can imagine my excitement when, scanning the Interwebz, I came across an article from Curbly, “Slides in Houses: The Top 5 Coolest Indoor Slides.”
My inner Webster bristled with joy.
Sure, they’re not exactly practical, and it appears as though the only people that can afford this amenity are the obscenely wealthy, but SLIDING FROM YOUR BEDROOM TO THE KITCHEN, Y’ALL! Totally worth it.
