Before immigrating to the United States in 1991, Linglong earned an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from Hehai University and a master’s degree in the same field from Wuhan University. Additionally, she taught civil engineering for seven years.
Linglong decided that one master’s degree just wasn’t enough and got a second in software engineering from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.
In 1996, Linglong joined the Quicken Loans team and played the parts of Business Analyst, Director of Database and Systems Engineering, and then finally landed in her current role as Quicken Loans CIO.
In the interview, Linglong talks about personal growth, grooming staff members for advancement and the stark expectations that exist for a company that prides itself in being a driver in the technology field.
Personally speaking, Linglong was one of the first team members I met when I came to work at Quicken Loans, and I was immediately drawn to her kindness. You know how, when you meet someone for the first time, you get the feeling that they are just a genuine person? That’s the feeling I got from my first encounter with Linglong.
No matter how big a rush she is in, she is quick to make sure that everything is going well for you personally and, she always makes time to chat.
Linglong truly epitomizes what Quicken Loans stands for as a company and embodies our culture perfectly.
