At Quicken Loans, it’s simple: If you have an idea and want it to succeed, it’ll show up in everything you do and you’ll make a difference.
That happens every day among the 10,000 team members at Quicken Loans. It all started here as an idea that was supported by a belief system. Without that, none of it would work. With it, we thrive. Making a difference for our clients, our teams, ourselves. That’s what it’s all about, and that’s what we do here at Quicken Loans.
A lot of our success is rooted in not being afraid to fail. Or better yet, learning from failure and getting stronger. It’s worked for nearly 30 years and it’ll work for many more. It’s who we are at Quicken Loans.
I can attest to that first hand. I’ve worked on numerous projects over the years that were stepping stones to bigger things. We first launched a blog in 2006 (the DIFF blog) and had no idea what would happen. The blog was given praise for it’s creativity and well received, but never got many visitors or traffic. We didn’t let that bother us though. We ran that blog for a few years and learned what we needed to learn to launch this blog. The Zing blog gets as many visits in a bad day that the DIFF blog got in a good month. Plus we get numerous comments and emails from clients and prospective clients needing help and asking mortgage questions. The lesson here is we could have given up when the DIFF was getting 200 visits a day (or less) and decided that blogging didn’t make sense for us. Instead, we regrouped, figured out what would be the best blog we could produce and came up with Zing. And we couldn’t be more pleased. So pleased in fact, we plan on growing this blog for years to come.
Another example is social media. Our first foray into social media? A MySpace page for Quicken Loans Careers. It didn’t do much for us, as you can probably guess. It actually probably was bad for us. So, what did we do? Did we decide that social media wasn’t a good thing for us? That we should probably focus our marketing in other places? Nope. In fact, we we right ahead and launched a Quicken Loans Yahoo! Answers profile and that immediately took off and we were named a Yahoo! Answers Knowledge Partner. From there we’ve been moving full steam ahead for years. Over the past six years we’ve created Quicken Loans profiles on Facebook, Twitter (also have Racing Facebook and Twitter profiles), Instagram, Vine, LinkedIn, YouTube and whatever else comes next.
The reason I’m telling you this is because I want to get across the attitude of leadership at Quicken Loans. They really encourage new things and new ways, as long as improvement is happening. It’s all done for one reason: You, our clients. When we improve, your mortgage experience improves. We get faster, which allows your loan to close faster. We get better, which makes your mortgage stress-free. It’s why 95% of our closed clients tell us they would refer us to friends and family. And why the BBB gives us a grade of A+. We’ve been ranked highest in customer satisfaction for mortgage origination in the U.S. by J.D. Power for the last three years in a row. We’ll see if we make it to four straight next week.
That all said, check out some videos that show who we are. That’s important. It’s all about who we are, not what we do. Because who we are will dictate what we do. Here’s who we are. Enjoy.
