Quicken Loans founder and chairman Dan Gilbert appeared yesterday morning on “Squawk Box” and talked Detroit. From the ending of the municipal government bankruptcy, to the booming Madison block (home to over 100 technology start-ups and companies), Detroit is headed in an upward direction. According to Gilbert, all the signs point to a booming resurgence in the Motor City.
Speaking of motors, Gilbert questioned Cadillac’s moving of its headquarters to New York City and predicts they’ll return to Detroit in a few years. And speaking of returning, Gilbert ended the interview talking about his delight at the return of LeBron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It’s going to be a big year for them and Gilbert; although Gilbert stopped short of promising or guaranteeing championship success, he certainly hopes that’s how the NBA 2015 season will end.
That’s it. Enjoy the video and let us know what you think about Detroit, Cadillac, LeBron James or anything. Leave it in the comments and we’ll reply. We promise.
