Get 3.5% Back from Fannie Mae HomePath Properties

Fannie Mae is now offering qualified buyers 3.5% off the final sales price to be used toward closing costs or their choice of appliances.  The announcement came today in the form of a press release.  This incentive applies to any HomePath purchase that closes before May 1, 2010.  Not sure if the home you want is a HomePath property?  Just check on HomePath.com, and if it’s on the list – you would qualify for this offer.

The website also includes detailed listings and pictures of available homes.  Many properties are also eligible for HomePath Mortgage and HomePath Renovation Mortgage financing which allows buyers to purchase the property with as little as 3% down.  The 3.5% off of the final sales price is only available for buyers purchasing a primary or secondary home, so investment property purchases would not qualify for this offer.

This opportunity is especially suited for first-time home buyers or buyers looking for investment properties.  The homes are often more affordable than market value pricing, and offer great potential for handy homeowners.  Since Fannie Mae offers HomePath Renovation Mortgage to go with many of these homes, buyers have a choice for financing the repairs needed.

Quicken Loans is an approved HomePath lender.  For more information check out this page.
