Quicken Loans is one of the country’s top lenders of VA loans. I’d like to attribute that to not only our AMAZING mortgage process, but also to the fact that we put a lot of effort into supporting the men and women of the armed forces. Whether we’re parterning with various veterans organizations through education and outreach, hosting first-of-its-kind events like the Quicken Loans Carrier Classic, or helping veterans join the civilian workforce, we really do go above and beyond for servicemembers because we care.
It’s important to know that this dedication to veterans isn’t just our job. Not only do we have a vested interest in taking care of veterans and service men and women by providing them with the security of a VA loan, we have a personal interest as well. Many of us do outreach and provide support outside of Quicken Loans. Some help by supporting Wounded Warrior by running in the Tough Mudder. Others help out at VA centers providing mentorship to vets looking to start a career. I work with the Vietnam Veterans of America, Paralyzed Veterans of America, am a proud supporter of Stiggy’s Dogs, and lend my support by attending as many veteran-related events in Detroit.
That’s why I’m excited to remind everyone that the 7th Annual Metro Detroit Veterans Day Parade & Ceremonies will be this Saturday, November 3, at 10:00 a.m. There will be marching bands, service organizations, veterans organizations, and more, braving these biting cold temperatures to honor the men and women who have put themselves in harms way, to remember the lives of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and to support those who go forth to protect our freedom.
The parade begins on Woodward Ave. & Temple (near the Vietnam Veterans Chapter #9), will travel south on Woodward to Grand Circus Park and back.
The Metropolitan Detroit Veterans Coalition has said it’s “a parade of veterans, for veterans, by veterans” and that’s all the reason I need to go out and show my support.
I hope to see you there!
