A few weeks ago, I did a post on unique kitchens ideas and how to steal the look for your own home. It was so much fun I decided to do it again, this time in the living room. Let’s be honest: The kitchen and the living room are the two places people gather most, and you want them to reflect your sense of style.
Here are five unique living room designs, pulled from around the web, to inspire your interior decorating.
Pantone recently announced that the 2014 color of the year is Radiant Orchid. Tie in this new trend by adding small, colorful touches like a pillow or throw. Love the color and want to make more of a commitment? Try painting an accent wall to create depth and make a statement.
Have a piece of art that you absolutely love? Use your statement art pieces as inspiration for your living room, like in the photo to the right. Display the art to make a statement, and pull colors from the painting into your accent pieces.
Are you a fan of the color craze? It can get overwhelming, but this picture shows you an option that doesn’t feel too crazy. Use neutral walls and big pieces of furniture to balance out colorful accents, or do the reverse: bold walls with neutral pieces.
Going for the rustic look? Add some interest with a pallet wood wall. Deconstruct the wood from the pallet and reattach it to the wall. You’ll probably need a saw to cut the end pieces to fit, but the work will be worth it in the end.
