While all of the above perks are GREAT, I think the best parts about working at Quicken Loans are the people and the atmosphere. People around here are full of energy and great ideas, things needed for the fast-paced environment Quicken Loans offers.

What if I told you that a co-founder of America Online, the vice president of global marketing solutions for Facebook, the creator of Twitter, and Quicken Loans very own chairman were all sitting in the same room discussing the importance of technology, particularly technology in Detroit? How would you react? I’ll tell you how I reacted – I was in awe.

Quicken Loans founder and chairman, Dan Gilbert welcomes team members to their new home in the Compuware Building. There’s no doubt that Quicken Loans move to Detroit has triggered a lot of positive attention around the city. With billboards up and the space re-designed with color and light, Quicken has brought a new vibe to Detroit. Helping kick-off the first day in the Compuware Building was Mayor Dave Bing, who expressed great pleasure in welcoming all of us. If you were in attendance on Monday at the press conference with Dan Gilbert and Bill Emerson, it’s probably safe to say it was an emotional day. If I had to describe it, the feelings that come to mind are ones of enthusiasm, excitement and encouragement to strive for the best. Our strong dedication and appreciation of Detroit is helping change the overall attitude in the city. People are beginning to have hope again and take action to see results. Young people, investors, business professionals, artists, seniors are all coming together to be a part of Detroit’s transforamtion. Local people and businesses are welcoming the Quicken Loans family with open arms and we couldn’t have asked for a better first week in Detroit! Craving more QUICK inspiration? Detroit Free Press wrote about the new technology hub that will soon be forming in downtown Detroit. So many new software and technology team members are moving in downtown, specifically, near Campus Martius park. Quicken Loans Chairman Dan Gilbert even suggested a new name for Woodward Avenue — Webward! 1,700 Quicken Loans team members will be moving in August. And now, about 500 GalaxE Solutions (New Jersey-based software firm catering to the heath care industry) employees are moving too!
