Riding on suspicion that European leaders are barreling toward a solution to the overseas debt crisis, treasuries opened down in the market this morning. Housing starts took a jump, increasing to 658,000 from last month’s recorded 571,000. Conversely, mortgage applications have decreased by 15% during the month of October.
What’s Up On Wall Street?
Nothing but good, green news coming out of Wall Street yesterday. The Dow Jones industrial average went up 180 points (1.58%), S&P 500 gained 24.52 points (2%) and the Nasdaq composite climbed 42.51 points (1.63%). With big names like Apple and Coca Cola reporting great third quarter results, it is not a surprise that the stock market closed with gains yesterday.
