The Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion’s 65th Annual Humanitarian Tribute was held November 7 at the MGM Grand Detroit. The event honors leaders who build relationships that create social justice and an environment where everyone feels included in their community.
Quicken Loans is proud to share the news that Matt Cullen, CEO of Rock Ventures LLC, is one of the 2012 Humanitarians of the Year.
In his role, he provides operational coordination and guidance to Dan Gilbert’s portfolio of companies, and he’s also president and chief operating officer of Rock Gaming LLC. He was honored for being instrumental in the revitalization of the Detroit Riverfront, serving as volunteer CEO of the M-1 RAIL light rail line initiative, and for his involvement on numerous community boards and organizations.
Joyce Hayes Giles, Senior Vice President of Customer Service for DTE Energy, was also named Humanitarian of the Year for her work in the community on behalf of DTE Energy and her roles on many boards, including Habitat for Humanity of Detroit, Health Alliance Plan of Michigan, the Music Hall, and many more.
The William H. Beckham Community Service Award was presented to the Sphinx Organization, led by Aaron Dworkin. The Sphinx Organization focuses on youth development and diversity in classical music, and Dworkin is known nationwide as an advocate for excellence and diversity in performing arts.
