"Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500" to Celebrate Military During Veterans Day Weekend Sprint Cup Race - Quicken Loans ZIng Blog

Quicken Loans, the nation’s third largest retail mortgage lender, announced “Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500,” as the official name for the company’s title sponsorship of Phoenix International Raceway’s (PIR) Veterans Day weekend NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, November 9, 2014.

“Veterans, active military members and their families will be front and center for the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 as we honor their service and sacrifice for our country,” said Quicken Loans President and Chief Marketing Officer Jay Farner. “And with the new elimination-style Chase format, the attention on the Veterans Day weekend race at PIR will be larger than ever.”

The race will conclude PIR’s 50th Anniversary season and a year-long celebration of the track’s rich history and contributions to motor sports in the West. Founded in 1964, PIR hosted its first NASCAR-sanctioned event in 1977 with a Winston West Series race. NASCAR’s premier circuit, now known as the Sprint Cup Series, made its debut in Phoenix on November 6, 1988, and for the past 25 years, the fall race in Phoenix has been on or near Veterans Day weekend.

Quicken Loans, which has an office and more than 550 team members in nearby Scottsdale, Arizona, offers the VA loan, which allows veterans, surviving spouses and active members of the military to refinance up to 100% of their home’s value or purchase a home with no down payment or mortgage insurance payments.

The company is also committed to creating career opportunities for veterans, Reservists, and their families through the Quicken Loans Veteran Hiring Program and its dedicated military recruiter.

“Veterans have a distinct and diverse set of skills that fit perfectly at Quicken Loans and our family of companies,” said Farner. “It’s these skills that makes them a true asset to any organization and a key part of Quicken Loans’ success throughout the years.”
