On a hot Saturday at Richmond International Raceway, a group of men and women from the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) were treated to the ultimate NASCAR fan experience provided by Quicken Loans.
Veterans from the IAVA were given the opportunity to experience race day at the Toyota Owners 400 like very few have been able to. For the entirety of the day, they were able to hang out at the Quicken Loans trailer where they received free food and drinks. They were also able to play bean bag toss in the sunshine and look out over the entire racetrack from the top of the Quicken Loans trailer.
To the surprise of the IAVA members, Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 31 Quicken Loans Chevrolet SS, made an appearance at the Quicken Loans trailer. Ryan took questions from the crowd, pausing momentarily to accommodate a member of the crowd with a picture. After chatting for a bit, everyone was able to squeeze into a group photo commemorating the beautiful Saturday at Richmond International Raceway.
The IAVA members spent the rest of the day exploring the sights and sounds of Richmond. Then they were able witness an excellent race from a viewpoint that would turn anyone into a NASCAR fan.
Quicken Loans couldn’t have been happier to host the IAVA at Richmond. We at Quicken Loans are passionate about supporting our veterans. We also love NASCAR and Ryan Newman. So we were ecstatic that we were able to show some IAVA members an amazing fan experience unlike any other.
We look forward to continuing our support for our country’s veterans by working closely with the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.
