It was the first of three evenings in which local design, architectural and culinary artists display their talents to raise funds and awareness for the Michigan AIDS Coalition.
During Thursday night’s Cocktails by Design, guests were able to view and purchase inspiring artwork and take in cutting edge 3-D dining installations designed by Doodle Home, dPOP!, Blumz by JR, Sachse Construction and many others. In addition, a variety of sports memorabilia, gift certificates, gift baskets and recreational activities were available for bid during a silent auction.
DIFFA guests enjoyed delectable handcrafted food from nearly 30 top-tiered restaurants, such as Joe Muer Seafood, The London Chop House and more. Twenty-six local chefs also competed for culinary awards. Entertainment was provided by Detroit Flyhouse, Nick Bourgeau Quartet and DJ PowdrBLU.
The art, glamour and fundraising continues tonight for ArtWorks Detroit, in which 125 pieces of unique art from various disciplines will be available for silent auction as well as 25 pieces via live auction. On Saturday night, Dining by Design will feature designer installations, silent auction items, entertainment by Ben Sharkey and DJ PowdrBlu and a five-star, four course meal provided by Coach Insignia, Gastronomy, Novi Chop House and Northern Lakes Seafood.
