When asked what Memorial Day means to them, most people say things like “I get to go on vacation,” “I’m gonna barbeque,” or “I get to hang out with my family.” Sometimes you’ll even get a “it’s a holiday weekend,” but that’s hit or miss.
While all of those things are nice and often true, Memorial Day is really a time for reflection and remembrance for the men and women of the armed forces who lost their lives while serving our country. On Memorial Day, many businesses give discounts and deals to active service members and veterans in honor of those who are no longer with us.
Included is a list of special Memorial Day discounts that are available for veterans and service members. But don’t forget, many other businesses offer everyday discounts to current and past members of the military. So if you’re somewhere with your family this holiday weekend, don’t hesitate to ask about your military discount.
If you’re not a veteran but know someone who is, please be sure to pass this along!
