Live Downtown Games Day Two: Gaming and Giving

Live Detroit - Quicken Loans Zing Blog It may have been raining outside yesterday morning, but it definitely wasn’t raining on the Live Downtown Games‘ parade. The contagiously positive energy of all participants and supporters continues to triumph in Downtown Detroit. The second set of volleyball and table tennis games brought two more wins for Compuware; the third round will take place later this evening.

Yesterday was Philanthropy Day. All week employees at the six participating companies will be bringing in school supplies and making donations through Chalkfly to benefit Detroit Public Schools. Donations made by each company provided materials for the “Stuff-a-Bus Competition,” in which 720 backpacks were loaded with over $15,000 worth of school supplies in under seven minutes and then placed in a school bus.

Quicken Loans took first place, Compuware came in second and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan took the bronze in this event. These competitions embody the intention and spirit of the week; competing companies and working together for Detroit.

More games and Field Day events to come, so keep checking for updates!
