Light the candles and let the confetti fly! I’m proud to shout Happy 2nd Birthday to the Quicken Loans Zing Blog! I recently sat down with Victoria Araj, who manages Zing and has worked at Quicken Loans for eight years. She has played a key role in the blog’s development and fast-growing popularity. Here are some highlights from our interview.
Q: Can you share a little history on the Zing blog?
VA: Sure, Quicken Loans launched its first blog, “What’s the Diff,” back in 2006 and later launched the “Mortgage News” blog. But we realized that those blogs primarily provided basic news, and didn’t best reflect our company’s personality. We wanted to do more to engage with potential clients and cover all of the things that go into having a happy home life. We want our clients to have an experience that’s Engineered to Amaze, so we came up with Zing from the word amazing.
Q: What helped your blog team successfully reach the two-year mark?
VA: We feel we’ve done a good job providing quality content no matter what stage of life you’re in. Whether you are starting your first job and saving as much as possible, buying your first home, or retired and refinancing to save a little more for that rainy day fund, we’ve got you covered. We’re continuing to serve as a resource through networking, hosting creative contests and by using social media. Zing offers a wealth of information when visitors come to our website and it’s clear readers enjoy seeing our authors and having the ability to directly interact with them.
Q: Are there any exciting changes coming down the pipeline?
VA: We plan on hosting more exciting giveaways that are centered around our home, money and lifestyle theme. We’re also exploring new content-exchange partners that will give our blog readers access to more information and resources. We’re always interested in publishing guest blog posts from new quality authors.
Q: What is your vision for Zing?
VA: My hope is that the Zing blog will soon be considered one of the top corporate blogs in the country because it gives readers professional tips, ideas and advice. Whether you are graduating from college or you are a retiree, we hope that everyone can find value in our blog. We hope that when you need home financing, Quicken Loans will be at the forefront of your mind as a lender because of the relationship that you’ve established by engaging with us and reading Zing.
Q: Is there anything else you want to add?
VA: We’re looking forward to seeing Zing grow and to becoming the top choice for mortgage news and lifestyle topics! A great way to stay in touch with Zing is to subscribe to our daily email at QuickenLoans.com/Blog!
There you have it, folks. Victoria’s excited, the whole team is pumped, and we hope you’re interested to see more great content from the authors at Zing!
