Hi! We want to lower our mortgage…our rate is at 7.85% and credit score has taken a plunge. Would we still qualify?

We own a 2 flat and are paying 7%. We live upstairs and are slowly remodeling the lower unit so it is not occupied at this time. Nobody will give us a refi with the lower being remodeled with open walls. Can you help or are we out of luck until it’s finished. This is a long term project were doing ourselves and have no time frame on when we will finish. The balance on the loan is only about 29000.

I don’t believe Quicken Loans is really out to help anyone but themselves. I have called and spoken to numerous people about refinancing. I am disabled and recently became sick. I started out being late on my Dec. 2013 payment and setup a payment plan. My credit score was excellent prior to November before I got sick and got behind on my bills. I also paid cash for a 100,000.00 handicap accessible addition to my home. They told me there is nothing they can do to help me. I wanted a cash out refi to catch up my mortgage and bill consolidation. All I hear from them is sorry! But yet I get emails from them everyday soliciting refi, they need to get their act together. I clearly have more than enough extra equity in my home for them to help without even endangering default on the loan. I guess they are only interested in my defaulting on the loan so they can make extra money if they sell the house. Don’t be fooled by Quicken Loans, Engineered to…..Not help anyone!
