Following speculation that France may lose its AAA credit rating, the early morning bond market opened up. Bonds have since fallen with the morning’s progression. Much of France’s financial strength and power have slowly corroded as a result of the continually developing European debt crisis.
Stateside, expect multiple announcements from government chairmen, including the Fed’s Ben Bernanke at 1:15 PM EST. In the economic release sector, the producer price index optimistically indicated progress.
What’s Up On Wall Street?
Not the Dow Jones, that’s for sure. The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 247.49 points yesterday (2.13%) after Johnson and Johnson and IBM both report back their third quarter earnings did not hit their estimates. S&P 500 dropped 23.7 points and the Nasdaq composite dropped 52.9 points.
