Living within your means is an important part of maintaining a budget. But that doesn’t mean you can’t daydream beyond your means! Thinking about living in a variety of fancy houses never hurt anybody. Whether your dream home is a vast mansion in the mountains, or if you fantasize about simpler things…like houses with slides, for instance – you can be pretty sure that someone with a bunch of money is already living out your wildest dreams. So why not live vicariously through them?

Let’s take a look at a few fancy houses I found while scouring the Internet.

1. America’s Most Expensive Home for Sale

A cool $175 million will buy you this modest ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The main house only has 3 bedrooms, but there are a few other tidbits included in this 1,750 acre property: a 4 bedrooom bunkhouse, two employee apartments, fishing ponds, a spring creek, stunning views of the Teton mountain range, a 52-stall equestrian center, indoor & outdoor riding areas, and this probably goes without saying, but you could play a mean game of hide & seek at this place. 2. ClockTower Penthouse in Brooklyn, New York

Yo dawg, I heard you liked clocks…

If you like clocks, you could straight up live IN one. The first floor of this tri-level penthouse has four working clocks housed in four 14-foot-high round windows. I wonder if they also come with loud, annoying ticking sounds. That is definitely one of the top 5 sounds that drive me crazy. I’ll get up in the middle of the night like a crazy person to silence a loud, ticking clock…so this house might not be right for me. But it sure does look cool.  Click here to see more photos.

3. A House Only a Rich Person Could Love

Candy Spelling is rich. Petra Ecclestone is rich too…well, her dad is anyway. So it makes perfect sense that one rich person would sell another rich person her crazy-fancy house for $85 million – CASH. Can you even IMAGINE what that stack of cash looked like? Do you think Petra hired a bunch of dudes carrying burlap sacks with large dollar signs written on the front to bring the money to the closing table? Or maybe she paid in all pennies. If I’m doing the math right, that would be 8,500,000,000 pennies. That’s what I would have done. That also probably explains why I’ll never be rich like that. Oh well, the house is not that cute anyway. Have a look.
