The markets got a dose of good news overnight. Banks in Europe decided to pay back a large amount of the money they borrowed. This is lowering demand for “safe” assets like Treasuries and mortgage bonds.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 40.80 points (+0.30%) while the Nasdaq also went up 17.55 points (+0.56%). The S&P 500 increased 5.45 points (+0.36%).
