Cool Workspaces, Balloon Animals, 3-D TV, Candy and Other Fun Stuff at Quicken Loans

We have a contest going on at Quicken Loans.

It’s about our common work areas on each floor.

It’s about what looks good.

It’s about what is best for both a work area and a recreation area.

It’s about what’s fun and functional.

It’s on all four of our floors in the Compuware Bldg (our headquarters).

Here’s how it works: Four vendors have come in and designed the common area on each floor (four floors total). They can do as much or as little as they want. Our floor is designed by Interior Environments and it’s super cool. Today they even brought in the very talented Vincent John II, who can work a balloon, let me tell you. He is the owner of Miraculous Entertainment, a Detroit party and entertainment company (you know, mimes, balloons, clowns, magic, stuff like that). Like I said, my man Vincent can work a balloon.

And Interior Environments can design a cool room let me tell you. It has funky, but functional seating. A table with ports and electrical outlets in the center. A 3-D TV. You can play music. You can play video games. I like it.

We are having a pizza party on Friday. I that that, too.

I got a balloon of a teddy bear holding a heart for my wife. It’s a day late, but it’s close enough to Valentine’s Day for me. I got her something else. Don’t worry.

And this is all designed to make our workplace more inviting and productive. This couldn’t have come at a better time. We have several hundred (300 to be exact) open IT (and other) positions right now. Yes, 300.

Oh, and we’re hiring 500 interns for the summer. Yes, 500.

So, this contest couldn’t come at a better time. I’m impressed with what I’ve seen and excited for these new digs to be permanent.

Who doesn’t want a 3-D TV and a Foosball game in their place of work?
