Many college students are under the impression that a college degree will automatically transition into a high-paying job once they fulfill their graduation requirements.

Yet, countless graduates experience a rude awakening when they actually begin to apply for employment and realize that there are simply not enough jobs to keep up with the growing workforce in America.

While graduates with a degree in a technical field such as engineering or computer science remain in high demand, graduates with degrees in architecture have been affected by the housing crisis, as an astounding 13.9% of these graduates are currently unemployed, according to CNBC.

If you’re currently deciding on a major or just wondering which college degrees hold the least weight in our current economy, here is a list of the top 10 college majors with the largest unemployment rate according to AOL JOBS:

Another great infographic from our good friends over at Quizzle.

We like Quizzle (the place to get your free credit report) so much. They make my life so easy by creating such great infographics as the one below. I can share it with all of you and give Quizzle a little credit and love in the process. It’s a win-win, no?

Anyway, this is very interesting. A staggering 94% of all students today have taken out a student loan. WOW. I chose a different route. I went in the Army and got the GI Bill (and later got a VA loan as thanks for my service) and my parents helped with the rest, but I really feel for today’s students who are shouldering this debt. And stress. Man.

With home prices in America lower than they’ve been in 10 years, it’s definitely safe to say that 2012 is a perfect year to buy a home.

Thirteen cities in America experienced a drop in home prices from the previous year. Of those 13 cities, five saw their average home prices fall to new record lows including:

• Atlanta
• Cleveland
• Chicago
• New York
• Portland

Only four states in the entire country experienced an increase in their average home prices over the last year.  Whereas Phoenix saw the largest rise in property value, with home prices up 6.1 % from the previous year, three other cities also saw an increase in home prices including:

• Dallas
• Denver
• Miami

Yet, the home prices in these rebounding American markets pale in comparison to some of the most expensive homes around the world.

While entertainer Mariah Carey’s $125,000,000 California mansion represents America on the list of “20 of the world’s most expensive homes,” there are homes on this list from ritzy regions all over world.

Many Americans may be falsely under the impression that the more you spend for a product, the better the quality or contents.

As a sneaker connoisseur, I can account for the validity of this statement as I rarely considered purchasing sneakers in the past that didn’t cost at least $175.

It wasn’t until I purchased the ultra sleek Kobe Bryant Krazy Eight basketball sneakers that I realized supreme comfort and quality could be obtained for a far more reasonable price.

Recent reports suggest that the same is true with food and produce. Whereas the high cost for organic and imported foods have been justified by consumers in the past, new research questions the cost and health benefits of these pricy foods.

For example, the Japanese delicacy of Kobe Beef is only produced in the Hyogo region of Japan and , due to USDA laws, can’t legally be imported to the U.S. Furthermore, the cattle standards for Kobe are so strict that only 3000 cows are certified as Kobe in the entire world.

Knowing that real Kobe beef has never legally entered America may raise an eyebrow when you see restaurants, grocery stores and butchers label various cuts Kobe – without informing consumers of the meat’s true origin.
