The on-track excitement is a just a short a week a way, but that didn’t stop the sponsors and friends of the Grand Prix from making sure it’ll be an event to remember – and much more than just an ordinary race weekend! It all got started Wednesday night at Detroit’s MotorCity Casino, where other sponsors like Chevrolet, Compuware, and Firestone were all on hand to mingle, nosh, and have a good time.
People show thanks in different ways. Some people write cards. Others send flowers. I usually just give a solid high five. Some decide to remix funk songs from the 70s and record themselves singing it in appreciation for a stellar job fair.
Most top tier athletes relish the opportunity to compete in front of a national audience and represent their sport in an all-star event.
